# Open-source technology to build and grow a new business.

The Firefly Software Foundation is a nonprofit organization. It gives companies and founders enterprise-grade open-source software, ready to plug in and run, starting with banking and insurance.

01 The idea

## Every business needs a building of technology.

A new lender or insurer raises it on an empty lot, and one already open modernizes it without closing. Both have taken years and large budgets.

1. The parts of a tower crane wait on an empty lot.
2. A mobile crane sets it up, section by section.
3. With the crane up, the site can start.

02 Assessment

## Every site starts with an assessment and a plan.

What the business has, what it needs, and what it can reuse are worked out before the ground is broken.

1. The site office arrives first: the assessment is made there.
2. The plans arrive with the architect.
3. The edge of the future pit is marked and fenced.

03 Excavation

## The foundation does the groundwork once, for everyone.

Architecture is decided before anything rises: where each business area ends and how its services talk. That work came from building a core banking platform.

1. A low-loader brings the excavator.
2. It cuts a ramp first: its way in and out.
3. Then it digs the ground, face by face, into the trucks.
4. A roller compacts the bottom.
5. The ramp comes out last, and the excavator leaves.

04 The foundation

## The frameworks are the foundation every piece stands on.

One design, poured in five languages: jafly for Java, pyfly for Python, larafly for PHP, rsfly for Rust, and netfly for .NET.

1. Steel mesh goes down over lean concrete.
2. Five mixers, one per framework, pour one slab.
3. The frameworks' mark is painted on it.

05 The structure

## The main projects rise as the structure.

OpenPlatform carries banking and insurance at the core. Koinon, Weave, and Agentic carry the corporate brain, business processes, and AI agents.

1. The OpenPlatform core rises first.
2. Koinon, Weave, and Agentic rise beside it.

06 Open source

## Open-source modules arrive ready to fit.

The foundation's trucks bring OpenPlatform's modules: shared services first, then each line of business, floor by floor from records to screens.

1. Shared services go in first.
2. Then each line of business, floor by floor.
3. Each room is fitted out as it lands.

07 Modernization

## A bank or an insurer modernizes without closing.

Its stone facade and its office stay. Old systems come out a floor at a time while customers keep coming in.

1. The branch stays open and customers keep coming in.
2. Scaffolding goes up and the old systems come out.

08 Connection

## New pieces connect to what stays.

The OpenPlatform core and its modules go in where the old systems stood, joined to the existing ones through APIs and events.

1. A mobile crane sets the new core.
2. The modules connect to the systems that stay.

09 Know-how

## AI writes the code. Experience keeps it right.

What counts is how the pieces fit. Coding agents build your own floor to a blueprint, and every change passes development policies and quality gates.

1. Coding agents build the roof floor to its blueprint.
2. It goes up through the quality gate.

10 Why open

## Opening the code is a commitment.

A business stands out by what it builds on technology. Freeing that layer lets every company, Firefly Software included, focus on the business.

1. The cabins leave on their trucks.
2. The mobile crane takes the tower crane down.

11 In business

## Your business opens on ground that already works.

Built new or modernized, your budget goes to what makes you different, while the foundation keeps maintaining what you build on.

1. The hoarding comes down and the entrance walk is laid.
2. The lights come on and the first visitors walk in.

12 Who does what

## The foundation is a nonprofit organization.

It exists for the projects: it develops them, maintains them, and publishes their code for anyone to read.

- Nonprofit **Firefly Software Foundation**Develops and maintains the open-source projects, their documentation, and their releases.
- Commercial company **Firefly Software**Founded the foundation and builds its banking and insurance services on the projects.
- Anyone **Your company**Reads each project’s code and uses it where its repository’s license allows.
